GW2 Refugee Volunteer Achievement Guide

GW2 Refugee Volunteer Achievement is introduced with the latest Flame and Frost: Prelude game update. Refugees traveling south from Wayfarer Foothills to Hoelbrak, and from Diessa Plateau to the Black Citadel are in need of assistance. Collect mementos, light campfires and aid refugee migration.

After completing this achievement, you have to re-log if you don’t get an e-mail. After receiving the e-mail you’ll gain Refugee Child’s Drawing. Double click it and you will gain 5000 karma.

Note: If you want to finish the achievement as soon as possible, re-log often to different overflows, use alt or guest on another server.

Later on that day, there will be events in Diessa Plateau. You’ll be sent an in-game mail letting you know about the events in Diessa Plateau. If you’re already logged in when that happens, you need to change maps to receive that message.

In Diessa Plateau, you will see refugees just north of the Black Citadel, and along the path north towards Wayfarer Foothills. You will see signs along some of the paths in the area.

GW2 Laurel Items

The latest Flame and Frost update introduces new Laurel items. The Laurel Merchant is located in Lion’s Arch, near WvW gates, but can be also found in the main cities.
You’ll earn the laurels as a reward for daily and monthly achievements! Redeem these laurels for rewards like the new Ascended gear and Infusions!

One of the first new reward systems we’re adding is based on a new currency: the laurel.

In addition to the normal rewards, players can earn one laurel for completing their daily achievement category and ten laurels for completing their monthly achievement category. Laurel merchants have been added to all of the major cities of Tyria, and they have a wide range of rewards to choose from. Some of the highlights:

  • Utility Infusions—a new category of infusion that provides powerful boosts to noncombat statistics, like gold find and experience gain.
  • Ascended Amulets—offensive, defensive, and utility variants of the next slot of ascended gear.
  • Ascended Rings—non-agony versions of the ascended rings from the Fractals of the Mists.
  • Crafting Starter Kits—one-time account purchases that contain everything you’ll need to get your feet wet in each of the eight crafting disciplines.
  • WvW Blueprints—everything you need to rain fire on your enemies in the Mists.
  • Support Items—new boosters, advanced harvesting tools, and crafting trophy bags.
  • Unique Minis—Goedulf, the mythical wolf-cub spirit that protects lost norn kids, and (my personal favorite) the runner-up in the Divinity’s Reach Fanciest Cat competition: Chauncey von Snuffles III.

GW2 Swampland Fractal Guide

GW2 Swampland Fractal is part of the Fractals of the Mists dynamic dungeon. You can read about Fractals of the Mists entrance and other fractal guides in our Fractals of the Mists Guide.

Objectives for Swampland Fractal

1. Return the wisps to the clefts – Wisps returned 0/3.
2. Explore the passage opened by the Mossman / Bloomhunger.
3a. Kill the Mossman – Mossman.
3b. Kill Bloomhunger – Bloomhunger.

1. Return the wisps to the clefts – Wisps returned 0/3.

To start the Fractal off you must find and return 3 Wisps to the Clefts on the South side of the map. This seems simple at first, but once you grab the first Wisp a 30 second timer starts. If you don’t get all the Wisps to the Clefts before the timer runs out the Wisps and map will reset making you start all over again, meaning you are going to have to send a different member to grab each Wisp. To make things even more difficult the map is covered in traps a groups of enemies that will slow you down as you attempt to return the Wisps. It is a good idea to try and identify these traps before you grab the Wisp so you can avoid them with greater ease on your way back to the Cleft.
